Makerversity’s mission is to inspire and support the best innovation and tech start-ups and grow communities of creative businesses prototyping their products and services in city centres.
We do this by providing workshop spaces, machines, tools, co-working space, consultancy and support for professional makers of all kinds. Alongside our facilities, we run learning programmes to inspire the next generation of creative and practical minds and increase the diversity of the creative industries.
Makerversity Amsterdam is a 1200m2 creative hub and community based on the Marineterrein, an old naval site which is now home to a growing number of creative and start up businesses.
We are home to over 50 professionals. Our members are designers, artists, engineers, software designers, product developers, entrepreneurs, technologists, inventors and craftsmen. We believe this mix of disciplines is crucial for an innovative, mutually supportive, dynamic community. Our space provides them with desk space alongside physical prototyping facilities, machines and tools which they use to create their work. Most of our members have relatively young creative businesses (less than 3 years old), have big ambitions and are actively seeking to grow their practice and impact.
